12th Feb 2009

Drawing II

To-do-list:
  1. Paint 3 baskets in the setting shown during class in watercolour. (A3) You're supposed to use masking film to mask out the lighting and texture on the baskets before painting. Masking film can be bought in Artfriend, roughly around $8:30 per bottle. Or you can go and look for Jian Yao and ask to borrow the masking film.
Here's the picture. It's not very well-taken I'm afraid. You can try looking at B6-12 for the setting to take a photo for yourself.

Things to be brought next week:
  • A landscape photo (colour print)
  • A waterproof black pen
  • Your painting materials and watercolour paper

Righto, anything else, please do give a  yell at the chatbox. Cheers people, and have a great Valentine's Day!

Drawing II

To-do-list:
  1. Paint an colour wheel, using the primary colours (red, blue and yellow) to mix the secondary and tertiary colours. The tonal values of the primary colours are also to be painted at the side. As to how to do the tonal values, you're supposed to keep adding water to it to get a lighter shade than before. Do it on a piece of cold-pressed A3 watercolour paper, preferably 250 gsm and above.
This is to be handed in the next lesson.

Things to be brought next week (22nd Jan):
  • Rounded-tip brushes
  • Watercolour paint set (min. 12 colours)

  • Water pail
  • Rags
  • A2 watercolour paper (at least 250 gsm and above, cold-pressed)
  • Masking Tape
  • Pencil (HB or B)

Yupp, give a yell or something if you want to clarify/add details. =)
