Okay, so the list of people going are:

Those who have yet to confirm with me, please do so by Tuesday 9pm.

The venue of the BBQ will be at the Bayshore. It's a condominium which is only 10mins away from East Coast Park. Details on how to get there will be smsed later.

Please be noted that the BBQ will start at Wednesday, 6pm sharp. So it's for the best that you guys turn up slightly earlier so as to help to setup the pit.

We also need volunteers for grocery shopping. Please meet us at 10am on Wednesday, at the Bedok Mrt Station.

Last but not the least, each is required to pay S$10. I'll return the change to you guys if there's any left after the calculation of costs.

Class BBQ

Hello people. Firstly, give yourself a pat on the back for completing the assessment from hell. Secondly, please come around here to RSVP for your place during the BBQ (I need to calculate the costs!)

Okay, all you need to know is that..

1. The BBQ will be held at the East Coast Park, Area C no.10 pit. (After searching high and low in Google Maps, it should be the closest to the McDonalds there hopefully).

Correction everyone, it's been changed to the Bayshore (a condoninium which is very close to ECP). Details on how to get there will be added in later.

2. I've booked it on Monday, 18th May 2009

Once again, this is changed to Wednesday, 20th May 2009 instead. The BBQ will be started at around 6pm, but those who can afford to come down earlier, please do. I seriously won't be able to do much by myself.

3. The grocery shopping will be done on Sunday, 17th May 2009 to:

20th May 2009, Wednesday morning. Those who can afford to come down, please do. Those who are allergic to any particular foodstuffs, please comment at this entry! Details will be enclosed later, once location and venue is confirmed.

4. If anyone else not from 1B wishes to join, you're most welcome to! Please just RSVP at this entry. Thank you~

5. Does anyone have a big enough icebox to store the drinks / ice / frozen variety? If you do, please do help out.

6. It'll be even better if there's anyone who is able to provide transportation e.g. driving of foodstuffs / charcoal down to ECP. If anyone is capable/willing to be the driver of the day, please do volunteer too! Not necessary any longer, thanks!

7. What do you wish to eat, please do add it in!

Annnnd, I look forward to the gathering! Cheers guys!

All the Best

Hello,

All the best for next week's assessment. Remember to sleep early to avoid coming late. Don't panic and relax because things can start to go wrong once you panic. Oh yeah talking about sleeping early why am I still up at 3 in the morning? lol. Ok, don't forget to tie up all your loose ends (finish everything) by Monday aright. Here's wishing all the best and good luck.

PS: Why not we bring tents and stuff and have a bbq/campover at ECP? We can rent bikes, rollerblade, swim in the sea etc. with no fucking care for the world. Plus there'll be that awesome sunset and sunrise. Think about it.

PSS: OH and everytime I camp over at ECP, it fucking rains heavily. Like in the Noah's Ark story.

Class Chalet

Hey guys, I know this is kind of off topic, but I'd like to know whether if most of you are interested in a chalet gathering after the assessments?

Venue: Changi (might change due to availability)
Duration: 3D2N (not yet confirmed)
Date: 15th May? (I'm thinking of right after assessments haha!)

So, if you're interested, please leave a comment at this entry. Not at the tagboard, because it won't be easy to keep track of everything.

And if you're not from 1B but is still interested, you're also welcome to join in~

Right, have fun you guys!

Edit: If you guys have read the news recently, the chalets at Aloha Loyang are used to be a quarantined area for H1N1. Perhaps we could change this into a BBQ or something instead? Ideas guys!

History Powerpoint Slides

Yes, a grand total of 15 powerpoint slides. This is going to be one heck of a flipping through peeps.

History Powerpoint Folder (no. 1-15, excluding 14)

Because no. 14, Surrealism is a huge file of 200+mb and Mediafire only supports 100mb file at best, therefore it's been reuploaded at another download site instead.

014. Surrealism Megaupload | Zshare

Guys, remember to buy Evelyn a cuppa or something for the slides. If you are not able to download these slides, please do drop a note at the tagboard.

Cheers!

Inspirational Music 1

Inspired by Julie's quotes of the day, I figure I'll upload some songs that inspire for creative purpose. You guys are welcome to download; just note the laws for legal download. Within 24 hours remember to delete etc.

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the colors high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never shall we die

It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down,
it all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down,
in my heart of hearts,
I know that I called never love again
I've lost everything
everything
that matters to me,
matter in this world

Have fun listening you guys.

Portfolio Layout example

For those who didn't turn up for Digital Art & Design's last lesson, we learnt how to do a portfolio layout. You're free to make it landscape, minus black lines or other coloured patterns etc.

Here's the photoshop file and the pattern layout . Both are in .psd format. I'm using CS3, so I'm not sure whether older versions can open the file or not.

Righto, see you lot tomorrow.

not an update.

If any of you feel disheartened, demoralized or dispirited, or simply feel like dying (like me), here's just a couple of artist quotes, that'll hopefully make your life pills that much easier to swallow.

"Every good painter paints what he is."
-Jackson Pollock.

"Practise what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not know."
-Rembrandt van Rijn.

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
-Scott Adams.

"A sincere artist is not the one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing."
-William Dobell.

(And these last quotes are just cause they're downright hilarious.)(To me, at least.)

"Painting is a language which cannot be replaced by another language. I don't know what to say about what I paint, really."
-Balthus.

"Believe it or not, I can actually draw."
-Jean Michel Basquiat.

Toodles.

P.S. The artists from all 3 eras could be found at DAM.

History of Visual Art II

Here are the powerpoint slides for this lesson.

Both are uploaded to Mediafire. If anyone can't access to the download, please drop a comment and I'll upload to another server ASAP.

P.S. The artist that Dr Sian had shown earlier during class is Caravaggio. If you thought you heard Michelangelo, you didn't hear it wrongly. It's his first name after all, just that he's not the one who sculpted David.

The drill is as usual; drop a comment if there's any missing details or enquiries. Cheers.
