Regarding the web site, apart from the razzmatazz taught, here are two links that I really find useful.

18th Feb 2009
Digital Art & Design
To-do-list:
- 5 digital montages (A4 size), as demonstrated by Aaron in class earlier. You're highly advised to use high-res images when doing them. They're to be handed in after tutorial week.
P.S. There'll be a small test during next lesson (25th Feb). So please do read up and be prepared for it.
Things to be brought for next lesson:
- Your vector illustration (A4)
History of Visual Arts II
Here's the powerpoint slide of the day. And the artist that she has mentioned today is JMW Turner, the guy who painted with his fingers (saving money much?).
Right, you guys have heard that she'll be giving out the essay topics next week. So do remember to turn up for class y'all.
Regarding about the Baroque and Rococo slides, I'm afraid that I didn't manage to get them. But Dr Sian should bring them next week for me to grab (hopefully).
If there's anything that you wish to clarify/comment on, please head on with the normal procedure with the chatbox. Cheers.

11th Feb 2009
Digital Art & Design
To-do-list:
- Create a vector illustration of yourself either in a gradient or flat style (A4 size). This is to be handed up two weeks later.
For those of you guys who can't remember how vectors are done, here's a tutorial. Though it's done in Photoshop 6, the tools and techniques are all the same in later versions of PS.
Things to be brought next lesson:
- As many different images as you can find for next lesson, Montage. It's recommanded that you take shots of various still life and nature. Try not to use a handphone camera for the pictures will produced will have too much noise, and sides the quality will not be the best.
Righto, if there's any troubles, please do give a roar at the chatbox. Cheers!

Portfolio Layout example

For those who didn't turn up for Digital Art & Design's last lesson, we learnt how to do a portfolio layout. You're free to make it landscape, minus black lines or other coloured patterns etc.
Here's the photoshop file and the pattern layout . Both are in .psd format. I'm using CS3, so I'm not sure whether older versions can open the file or not.
Righto, see you lot tomorrow.

History of Visual Art II
Here are the powerpoint slides for this lesson.
Both are uploaded to Mediafire. If anyone can't access to the download, please drop a comment and I'll upload to another server ASAP.
P.S. The artist that Dr Sian had shown earlier during class is Caravaggio. If you thought you heard Michelangelo, you didn't hear it wrongly. It's his first name after all, just that he's not the one who sculpted David.
The drill is as usual; drop a comment if there's any missing details or enquiries. Cheers.
